About ZSTC

Zanzibar State Trading Corporation (ZSTC) is a government institution focused on the development, processing, and distribution of national commercial crops, particularly cloves. Established in 1966, ZSTC operates under the Zanzibar State Trading Corporation Act No. 11 of 2011 and the Clove Development Act No. 2 of 2014. The corporation supports the clove sector through investments, research programs, farmer incentives, and policies such as price subsidies and insurance. Cloves have been a significant foreign exchange earner for Zanzibar for the past 150 years.

Organization Structure

ZSTC's organizational structure is designed to promote efficient and effective operations towards the development, processing, and distribution of national commercial crops, primarily cloves.

Corporate Social Responsibility

ZSTC places great importance on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), making it an integral part of our strategy and plans. Our culture is guided by a commitment to good business practices that provide value to all stakeholders. We prioritize education, health, infrastructure, environment, and economic empowerment as part of our broader CSR efforts.

Our goal is to establish and sustain long-term trust with stakeholders and the community by being responsive to their specific needs. We provide support through initiatives, either by request or through national concerns, by granting specific projects in cash or kind.

Our support is provided without any expectation of material gain from the community or groups. Instead, we strive for corporate recognition, credibility, and a positive reputation through our CSR efforts.
